I've been rebelling against it long enough! I have seen the Twilight series books on shelves at the book store for months and at first I thought, "Oooh, teeny-bopper vampire love story, how lame!" I'd pass it by. Then I saw a bunch of my friends and family members mention it on their blogs and I still said, "No, thanks." Then I heard that the author went to BYU and I REALLY said, "No!" I hate when I'm expected to read and love something just because it's by a Mormon (I'm not a fan of Jack Weyland and John Bytheway is not really that clever).
Anyway, I was looking for a book to read on the airplane during the long cross country flight to California and I got curious. I mean, Twilight was on the New York Best Seller list so there must be something to it, right? So, I thought, "I'll just read this one book and see what all the hub-bub is about." Holy cow!! Who knew that was all it would take to have me hooked. I raved to my mom and Sean about how much I loved it and ran (almost literally) to the nearest store to get the sequels. Sean proceded to make fun of me for the same reasons I mentioned before. Before too long though, he was no where to be found, and neither was my book! He totally swiped it and couldn't put it down either! I should have said "Swiper, no swiping!" Now we're both almost done with the series and can't wait for the movie to come.

Ha ha! The same thing happened to me and I'm totally hooked. They were such an easy read. I can't believe I read over 2,300 pages in a week.
What? You lier, you TOTALLY love John Bytheway.
I AM SO RIGHT THERE WITH YOU HEID's.!! When my coolest aunt approached us last year at Thanksgiving and was telling us about it I was like, "UH, your now the uncoolest aunt...." But then Nate got hooked at Christmas and read them all and so months later, nothing to do, thought I'd give it a try, and finished them all and HAD to wait for the last one to come out 3 months later. IT SUCKED!! So be glad you don't have to wait for any other sequals. I'm so glad to hear Sean is reading them too. Nate will be glad he's not the only guy...
You're one of us now...
Vampiress...
Actually, I bought 15 of the books..I can't keep them on the shelf in my classroom. In fact, I never thought I'd have to scold kids who for sneak-reading... "Put that book down and pay attention!"
Noooooooo! I can't believe you bought into that total cheese-ball and unbelievable series! I thought you were better than that.
"Oh Edward!" BARF-OLA!
Welcome to the dark side. I guess desperation for something to read will make anything seem amazing. I liked them, and I picked it up during my spring break while Mr J was deployed. I didn't have anything else to do! I can't wait for the movie though!! ----Rach
Haha, welcome to the club. I have my issues of course (like HOW many times do we have to hear about Edwards cold marble skin?!?) but I totally loved them.
I am laughing so hard right now at your blog and the comments. I read the books...very reluctantly...all in one weekend. I don't actually think they are that fantastic, but something about them sparked my interest and I couldn't put them down. It was pretty embarassing though telling Todd I was reading a vampire romance novel! I'm going to have to disagree with Robyn though, Edward was the reason I read the books...all the other characters, well mostly just Bella, totally bugged me the whole time.
