Where Has the Time Gone?
My little guy is growing up so fast. It seems like yesterday we would watch Backyardigans and Max and Ruby and play with blocks and build big towers. Now his all time favorite show is Phineas and Ferb. He will request it every time I turn on the TV. Fortunately I find this show pretty entertaining, but I've seen every single episode at least 3 times each. I'll sneak in a Diego or Max and Ruby DVD once in a while. He'll fuss that it's not his favorite, but after a while, he'll get into it and be my little preschooler again. I need a little while longer with my little guy before he graduates to being big kid.

My Little Baker
I got a cute little star shaped pie mold and I was in the mood to try it out on some peach pie. As soon as I started rolling out the crust, I had a little helper that pulled a chair up to the counter so he could get in the action. So I gave him the leftover dough and showed him how to sprinkle flour and use the rolling pin and such. He was so thrilled to pat the dough and roll it over and over. He kept telling me he was making a pie for me. It was really sweet. Messy, but sweet.
P.S. The pies tasted better than they looked.

My New Obsession
A friend recommended this awesome website and now I can't get enough. It's called
This site is like Facebook for book lovers. You can 'befriend' each other and give book recommendations and have online discussions. I love seeing the kinds of books that my friends are interested in and reading their reviews. I've gotten so many good recommendations. If you want to join up and compare books, befriend me and we'll get to it.
I'm probably on this site way too much. It's so addictive!

Happy 3rd Birthday!
My baby is THREE!! I can't believe how fast he's growing up. We had a backyard water party and William was thrilled. We had an inflatable pool and small water slide. Good times! He keeps asking when his next birthday is.

Move Over Twilight. . . .
I just finished reading the final book in the Gemma Doyle Trilogy and my only regret is that there are no more to read. I LOVED these books! Oddly enough, a couple of weeks ago, I was at TJ Maxx and browsing the stationary/scrapbook section and there were a couple of books shoved in there. The first was A Great and Terrible Beauty and the other was The Sweet Far Thing. I had no idea what these books were about only that they took place in Victorian England and were about boarding school girls who form a secret club. I hadn't read a series since Twilight and these books were discounted so I thought I'd give them a whirl. I really had to trudge through the first quarter of the first book and get used to the author's language. I was a little annoyed at first, thinking I'd bought a teeny-bopper, my-life-is-so-hard-because-someone-is-prettier-than-me, whiny book. Once I got into the meat of the plot, things got interesting, then better, then impossible to stop reading. Immediately after finishing I HAD to buy the second book. I devoured that in a couple of days and now I'm done with the last book. They are easy reads given that they are young adult fiction (comparable to Twilight minus the teen angst) and a little scary. I got goosebumps several times and had to sleep with the lights on more than I'd like to admit. If you liked Twilight you'll probably love these books too. Oh, if only there was a movie to come out. . . .
Now what am I going to read?
